On 14 September 2026, members of the committee met with the municipality and representatives from other neighbourhoods at the municipality’s invitation.
Earlier that year and the year before, we had requested meetings ourselves and surveyed residents about safety. We shared the results with the municipality and have been involved in discussions ever since.
Outcome of the meeting on 14 September
It was a productive meeting. The municipality has earmarked a sum of money for short-term measures to improve safety at two junctions: Heezerweg and Petrus Dondersstraat/Bonifaciuslaan.
Together, we explored possible solutions. As a committee, we also want to take a more active role and contribute our own ideas.
The municipality will collect all the ideas discussed and coordinate the next steps. At the meeting, it was agreed that we would meet again six weeks later. The date and time were still to be confirmed.
